I received a forwarded e-mail the other day that I thought I would share with you. It is some interesting facts about drinking water and how important it is to our bodies. Did you know that about 90% of heart attacks occur in the morning? It can be minimized if you drink 1 to 2 glasses of water before you retire in the evening. Two glasses of water after waking up helps activate the internal organs. One glass of water 30 minutes before a meal aids in digestion. One glass of water before taking a bath helps lower blood pressure. One glass of water before bed helps avoid strokes or heart attacks.
I thought these were some very interesting little factoids and how simple is it to drink a glass of water? So drink up! Drink your way to better health, cheers!!

Cholesterol Screening
It's almost that time again! Time to get your cholesterol checked. You can have that done here at the Summit the first Thursday of every month. Our next screening will be July 7th. You will need to fast 12 hours prior to coming in, that means no coffee either. You can of course have water. There are 3 levels of screening you can have done...a comprehensive screening (LDL, HDL, tryglicerides, glucose and their ratios) is 25.00, LDL and HDL for 15.00 and cholesterol in general for 10.00. Come in, say hi and get that screening done, take good care of yourself.

Thursday 8:00am Yoga
I know, I know everyone has been wondering is the 8:00am yoga on Thursday on or off?? Sometimes summer can prove problematic with scheduling and it has been questionable as to whether the Thursday am yoga class was going to run or not. Thankfully we have fabulous yoga instructors here and they stepped up to the plate to make sure we are still on for that class.
Classes that do not consistently have 5 people in attendance will be cancelled.
Our summer yoga classes, are as follows:
Monday 8:00am
Tuesday 6:00am and 12:10opm
Thursday 6:00am, 8:00am and 9:00am (the 9:00am class is a gentle restorative yoga)
Friday 6:00am
Saturday 8:15am
Classes that do not consistently have 5 people in attendance will be cancelled.

Summit At Home
Have you checked out all our great machines that we have for sell through our "Summit at Home" program. Statistically people that have gym memberships also have home workout equipment for their own personal use. Here at the Summit we have a fantastic selection of equipment available for purchase, steppers, elipticals, treadmills, bikes etc...I personally have tried several of these out and I can honestly say the quality is great, much more substantial than I thought they would be and very user friendly. This summer we are offering our Summit at Home machines to you with free delivery and free set up. Boiler Retrofit/Repair
Starting Monday August 1st we will NOT have hot water. Yikes!! This project is going to take about 5 days to complete so we will be without hot water probably that whole week. The pools will still be warm, they run off a different system ,but it will affect the showers. Please make other arrangements if you normally shower here after your workout, or you can get that exra refreshing wake up COLD shower.
