Happy New Year!!

Can you believe it? It is almost 2010, what a crazy concept! So with the start of a new year we have resolutions. One of the biggest is "lose weight and get in shape", how can I get started? So many times our good intentions are hard to implement when we don't have the knowledge we need to get a program started affectively. Let one of our personal trainers help you get started on the road to success. You can do individual sessions or 3 paks, 6 paks, or 12 paks, stop by the fitness desk and see who would be available to fit your schedule to get you jump started on your "new" fitness program.

Living on the Edge

Did you know? Before people develop type 2 diabetes, they almost always have "pre-diabetes" blood glucose levels that are higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. Recent research has shown that some long-term damage to the body, especially the heart and circulatory system, may already be occurring during pre-diabetes. The good news is that studies show that people with pre-diabetes can prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes by making changes in their diet and increasing their level of physical activity. Through a grant from the State of Montana, the KRMC Diabetes Education and Prevention program offers a 16 week Diabetes Prevention Course open to anyone at risk for diabetes. Located at the Summit, this course includes instruction on nutritional choices as well as individualized exercise instruction.

Two class offerings are available: Mondays(beginning January 25) from 4:30-6:30pm or Tuesdays (beginning January 26) from 11:30-1:30pm. Cost of the class is a depost of $50; however, the cost is fully refundable upon completion of the course requirements. Scholarships are avaliable for those who cannot afford the class cost. Merry Christmas

As I stand here this Christmas Eve morning, I'm reflecting over the past year. I can't believe the year is coming to a close, time truly does fly when you're having fun. This is a time amidst all the hustle and bustle to take a moment and count your blessings. Allow me to share with you, I have a wonderful husband whom I just celebrated our 30th Anniversary with, two beautiful daughters and the most special little grandson in the world who loves his Grandma "so much". I also count in my blessings my Summit "family". Not only those I work with but all "my" special members I get to see and spend time with, I've gotten so close with so many of you I feel you are part of my family. I hope you all have a blessed Holiday Season as well as good tidings for the upcoming New Year. Merry Christmas my friends.

Computer Issues, I'm Back

Have you missed me? I hope so 'cuz it's been awhile. A few computer issues that left us with 2 computers to do 50 million things. Yikes! Anyway, we have a new computer I have been re-introduced and only lost a few things. Onward and upward! Did you realize that Christmas is next week? How did that happen? Are you ready, is your shopping done? What a hectic time of year. It is real easy to get caught up in the chaos so we need to step back, take a breath, relax and try to enjoy the Season. Oh ya, don't forget to come work out at the Summit, it's a great stress reducer.

Swim Team Makes a Big Splash!

Wow! Do you get a chance to see any of the swim meet this last weekend? If you did you would have seen some very impressive results from our local kids, from Glacier and Flathead High Schools. The boys took first and second overall, and the girls took second and third overall. All of the relays were incredible! I'd start mentioning names but I know I would forget someone. Let it be said, all these kids put on a fantastic performance. Congratulations and well done!!
